Even a “slight” misalignment after a collision can destroy your tires and fatigue your frame. Our Beeline equipment offers the industry’s best alignment and frame straightening technology to get the job done right.
We work on many commercial accounts. And we know that every day your vehicle’s off the road is a day you can’t make money.
Whether your vehicle has been damaged as a result of a collision, abusive handling, overloading, or another cause, we’ll inspect your frame and, whenever possible, repair it. If your structural damage is past the point of no return, we’ll be honest and tell you that, too.
What are some typical causes of frame damage?
- Exceeding the gross vehicle weight rating
- Uneven load distribution
- Improper fifth wheel settings
- Using a vehicle for purposes for which it was not originally designed
- The use of equipment for which the frame was not designed
- Improper modification of the frame
Safety is our top priority in collision repair—and safety is a reason why you should NEVER attempt to fix frames on your own. Vehicle frame repair is high-precision work. A bent frame can throw off your alignment and cause your vehicle to underperform, with lower gas mileage and unacceptably fast tire wear. And sometimes the damage to your frame makes the vehicle no longer safe for operation.
TRUCK FRAME DAMAGE: SAGS, SIDE SWAYS, TWISTS AND DIAMONDS
Below are common types of full-frame damage that we see in trucks and trailers:
Truck Frame Sag Damage: The operative word here is bend. Sag occurs when a truck’s frame is bent downward. Often results from overloading the vehicle, overheating the frame, or drilling too many holes in rails, to name a few causes.
Truck Frame Side-Sway Damage: Occurs when a truck’s frame is visibly bent to the side. From a bird’s eye view, the frame damage is curved like a banana, and the front wheels no longer track with the rear. The degree of misalignment varies significantly with the degree of impact. Side sway is usually the result of a side-swipe accident or from frequent hauling of unequal loads.
Truck Frame Twist Damage: Occurs when one chassis rail end is higher or lower than the other. Often results from accidents. Front-end abuse from snowplowing is also a common cause.
Truck Frame Diamond Damage: Occurs when one chassis rail of a truck is displaced in front of or behind the other. Generally, diamond displacement includes collateral damages of bent crossmembers and bent upper coupler supports.
